Team 1: Housing Justice – this team will work on all things housing, including, but not limited to:
- How zoning impacts housing – affordability, type, etc
- How growth policies can make residential neighborhoods better, worse, more expensive, more affordable etc
- Policies that strengthen tenants rights
- Policies that make housing generally more affordable
- How to make sure that everyone who wants a home has a home
Team 2: Climate – this team will work on all things climate, including, but not limited to:
- How zoning impacts climate – dependence on fossil fuels, water use, heat trapping, air quality
- How growth policies can codify more sustainable practices and the right to a clean environment (water, air, etc)
- Indoor air quality around smoke and disease and inversion in the valley
Team 3: Connectivity, quality of life, planning – this team will work on all things that make a community a community
- Understanding form based zoning and community planning
- Understanding how growth policies can lead to more connected communities via green space, transport, folks out walking to stores etc
- Policies that create community rather than interrupt it
- Community building practices
- Look into codifying 15 minute neighborhoods
